Who the car scheme is for:

The Welwyn Hatfield Community Car Scheme is set up to provide transport for people who cannot use public transport. Our customers are mainly older people, or people with illness or disability that prevents them from using public transport easily. Our drivers are local volunteers who are vetted by us and who give part of their time to community work in the area. Transport is for: medical appointments; support groups; day centres; visits to sick relatives or friends. Getting out and about can be very difficult for many people.

Volunteer Drivers If you:

• want to volunteer for work in the community
• have access to a car in good condition
• have had a full driving licence for three years
• think you would like to help out by providing transport to local people in need
