The time of the Clean Up Hatfield Campaign week is approaching quickly again! As part of the national Big Spring Clean, local people are being encouraged to get involved. Together we can make our towns nicer places to be. The Hatfield campaign week starts on Sat 14 March and runs to Sat 22 March
The Clean Up Hatfield campaign organisers, Marian Hurle and Cathy Roe, are busy allocating streets, raising awareness and forming teams to tackle the towns rubbish problem. Local charity Welwyn Hatfield Community and Voluntary Service (WHCVS) are pleased to support the campaign again. It runs twice a year and, in addition, WHCVS have regular groups that go out to litter pick and brighten community spaces throughout the year. Affinity Water, Sustrans, Hatfield Library, amongst other businesses and groups, have pledged to take part.
WHCVS volunteer Maria Prisciandaro will be joining the campaign. She says: ‘I enjoy the fresh air and friendships while walking. It is rewarding to make it nicer for everyone and I hope to inspire others to take care of their streets too.’ Friendship, exercise, fresh air and doing something worth while are all great reasons to get involved.
Clean Up WGC have some litter picks organised in WGC on 21 and 22 March as part of the Big Spring Clean. A friendly and active group, they are keen for everyone to get involved too.
