World Mental Health Day Walk with HSP Mental Health Champions

October 10, 2021 @ 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM

Join the Herts Sports Partnership’s Community Mental Health Champions for their first event – walk and talk – to raise awareness of mental health.

For many years, the social stigma attached to mental ill health has led to discrimination, often exacerbating the difficulties that people with mental health problems experience. Statistically, one in four people will experience a mental health problem at some point in their lives and, while treatments are available, nearly two-thirds of individuals will never seek advice or feel comfortable talking about it.

Research has shown that physical activity has positive effects on our mood and can help reduce anxiety and in some cases is prescribed to improve depression.

Herts Community Mental Health Champions would like to invite you to join them in a group walk around the park at Birchwood Leisure Centre (Hatfield) on Sunday the 10th of October 2021 at 12:00.

After the walk there will be an opportunity to purchase hot drinks at the Cafe, sit down and enjoy a conversation. We will provide water free of charge to event attendees.

Meeting point: Footpath on the side of the entrance to the building

Cost: Free to attend

Audience: This walk is appropriate for adults and young people accompanied by an adult or guardian.

Make sure you sign up to the event to confirm your place.
