Do you know a Welwyn Hatfield green space in need of improvement?

Groundwork is delighted to announce that, in partnership with Tarmac*, our award-winning Green Team has secured the funds to deliver a 14 week landscape training course in Welwyn Hatfield.

With funds in place to deliver the training programme, Groundwork is now looking for suitable sites to improve. If you have or know of a site that is in need of some attention, modernising or re-designing then this is a fantastic opportunity to receive the help of eight volunteers and two Groundwork supervisors to implement your ideas. We are particularly keen to work with schools, community groups, or any green space project that would give a wider community benefit.

The Green Team is a chance for unemployed people aged 19 or over to volunteer and gain experience, get qualifications and learn new practical skills while improving a community green space. The course is for those interested in pursuing a career in construction, landscaping and aggregate industries.

Criteria for any site include:

  • Must be located in Welwyn Hatfield
  • Site must be available from 16 February – 30 May (inclusive) for work to take place
  • Be possible for a team of up to eight volunteers and two staff to work on during the period above

If you are involved with or are aware of a green space that could do with the Green Team touch, please contact me.  Chris Dungate, Operations Manager, Groundwork Hertfordshire.  Tel: T: 01707 255184, M: 07872 400 778
