The Welwyn Hatfield CVS Community Car Scheme is part funded by Hertfordshire County Council and East and North Hertfordshire CCG and was set up to provide transport for people who cannot use public transport.

Our customers are mainly older people or people with illness or disability that prevents them from using public transport easily.

Love Welwyn Hatfield is the community clean-up campaign to help improve particular areas in Welwyn Hatfield that require some TLC.

It is funded by the Welwyn Hatfield CVS and has just received a small grant from Arnold Clark Community Fund to help during the pandemic with the schemes littler picking efforts. With more and more people in the community making use of local green spaces, woodland walks, parks and around the neighbourhood, we are delighted to have their support.

Let’s Chat scheme is a telephone service, which provides regular calls and a friendly chat to people who feel isolated. Our volunteers make regular telephone calls to clients who are experiencing loneliness and isolation, to offer a bridge into outside world.

The gardening scheme was set up as a result from the amount of enquires we received from residents who are elderly or with mobility issue needing a hand to maintain their gardens. We have a team of volunteers who work together to fulfil the clients request and they often exceed their expectations. That is why in 2021, we renamed the project; adding an extension to the name to reflect their commitment, dedication and the friendships they have forged; we think they are blooming marvellous.

Staying Connected is a county wide Digital Inclusion project developed by a partnership of eight Hertfordshire based voluntary sector infrastructure organisations – Community Help Hertfordshire.

In the Welwyn Hatfield borough, the project provides assistance to residents who may be struggling with using new technology and who may feel isolated from society as a result.

Residents Talk enables the residents of Welwyn Hatfield to raise awareness to what is happening in the borough. We wanted to provide a platform so their voices can be heard.
