My name is Barbara Gordon-Foxwell, and I would like to tell my story about how I came to be a volunteer gardener.
It all started back in November 2021 when I retired from Waitrose after working there for many years.
I had some time on my hands so I thought it would be nice to be able to help people that are unable to do their gardens themselves. I would ask them how we could improve their gardens and hope that we can achieve that together.
It can be a good way of making friends and it is certainly a great feeling when we look back at the ‘before’ and ‘after’ photographs to see how much better it all looks after completion.
Also, in my other spare time I relax by sitting down and doing jigsaw puzzles as well as looking after my own garden.
I have a husband, several cats and four grown up children.
