The Welwyn Hatfield CVS has merged with Communities 1st

We are pleased to announce the exciting news that, following an extraordinary general meeting of the Welwyn Hatfield CVS (WHCVS) held on Thursday 19 December, the merger between WHCVS and Communities 1st has been officially approved. While both Trustee Boards made the decision to merge in November, the merger could only proceed once approved by our CVS members in the General Meeting. Read more..

Our October Black History Month Pop-Up Market and Workshops Weekend in partnership with Hatfield Cultural Connection and held at The Galleria, was a weekend not to be forgotten. The local community and beyond came to celebrate Black heritage, support small businesses, connect with services and network. Black History Month October 2024 – What to look out for

October is Black History Month in the UK, It’s an annual focus on raising awareness about the often overlooked or underrepresented aspects of Black history, culture and heritage. Various events, exhibitions, performances, films, workshops, and educational activities and more are organised across the UK inviting everyone, to learn, appreciate, and engage with the rich and diverse heritage of Black Britons. The Healthwatch Hertfordshire – Blood Pressure Monitoring in Dental Practices Focus Group

The Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care Board (ICB) is undertaking a pilot of implementing blood pressure monitoring in a selection of dental practices and opticians across Hertfordshire and West Essex. The idea is to increase the detection of hypertension by having blood pressure monitoring available in settings other than GPs and pharmacies. We are holding two focus groups with members of the public to explore their thoughts on having blood pressure monitoring available in dental practices and opticians.  We want to speak to Hertfordshire Residents over the age of 40 who do not have a diagnosis of hypertension. They will be able to attend focus groups on 13 August and 15 August between 6pm and 8pm. Attendees will receive a £10 voucher for contributing to our research. The County Wide Digital Inclusion Project “Staying Connected” Receives National Lottery Community Fund Grant

We are pleased to announce, Community Action Dacorum has secured a grant from The National Lottery Community Fund to support our Hertfordshir-wide digital inclusion project, “Staying Connected,” for the next three years. This vital project, began in 2020 and is dedicated to supporting the 10% of people in Hertfordshire who are unable to access the digital world. Staying Connected is a partnership project with Welwyn and Hatfield CVS, Communities 1st, Community Alliance Broxbourne and East Herts, Watford & Three Rivers Trust and North Herts and Stevenage CVS. Each organisation will continue to use their strengths, local knowledge and networks to find and support those who are digitally isolated. “Staying Connected” is a lifeline for many who find themselves on the wrong side of the digital divide.
