Love Welwyn Hatfield teams start the Great British Spring Clean in the Borough

The Great British Spring Clean is well on the way and at the weekend, Tim and his team of volunteers tackled a litter pick in Hatfield with Love Welwyn Hatfield for the #GBSpringClean and the #MillionMileMission. Saturday: Picked Bishop Rise, near St John’s Church 4-5 bags of litter. Sunday: They covered Hazel Grove and retrieved a lot of rubbish out of the woods between Herneshaw and Broom Close. The additional bags collected were added to those collected on Saturday. Nice work guys, loving the photos and a big thank you for helping with the #GreatBritishSpringClean in the borough during #VolunteersWeek.

Waitrose partners with Welwyn Hatfield CVS to “Give a Little Love” at Easter

We’d like to say a big thank you on behalf of our clients for this thoughtful and lovely donation of Easter Gifts organised by Angela Baker-Croft and her team at Waitrose in Welwyn Garden City. W Angela has been one of our volunteers since the 1st lockdown, supporting some of our clients with shopping, prescription collections and befriending. She has provided tremendous support to the organisation and extended this through her usual routine at Waitrose. We were blown away by their generosity and kindness. The gifts were delivered during the Easter weekend to our clients at the Welwyn Hatfield Community and Voluntary Service, some of the clients at Potential Kids and children doing great community service in the Borough; they were very surprised and delighted. The little litter pickers were doing an amazing job at tidying up Ridgeway in Welwyn Garden City. One of them even asked for a litter

Last week, volunteer Terry had his first shift at the large Vaccination centre at the Roche Pharmaceuticals Building in Shire Park, Welwyn Garden City. Terry is also one of the Information Champion within Welwyn Hatfield helping to deliver key factual COVID-19 and health related messages to the community. These messages have been provided by from the NHS and Public Health Hertfordshire through the CIC Hertfordshire Partnership network. Terry was very keen to get started at the vaccination centre and dropped us a little message to let us know how it went. “It was extremely well organised; people were really please to be getting their jab and there were loads of thumbs up and smiles. Numbers were lower than hoped, but I am sure that will build up. Please pass on my thanks to all concerned. I have two sessions booked for next week and looking forward to it.” Terry We’re
