World Suicide Prevention Day brings organisations and communities together around the world to raise awareness of how we can create a world where fewer people die by suicide.

It important because the latest suicides statistics showed that in 2018, in the UK and Republic of Ireland, more than 6,800 people died by suicide. Every life lost to suicide is a tragedy.

Statistics show that suicide by middle aged men between 45-49 is still the highest in the country and increasing all the time.

The National Suicide Prevention Association have created a social media toolkit for those interested in suicide prevention to raise awareness of suicide and help prevent death by suicide.
