Michelle Jervis was the first to receive the Tap Bali Award
Michelle Jervis has been awarded the very first Tap Bali Award for her outstanding commitment to her voluntary work.
Michelle has been a essential part of our team for over a decade and instrumental part of the congregation at St. Luke’s Church in Hatfield.
Her impressive skill set includes: organising teams, fundraising and administration but most of all, she is a fabulous communicator and a people person. She also has a wealth of knowledge on the area and beyond, which has been handy on many occasion. Congratulations Michelle!
Michelle said, “Even before I knew about the award I have said to people that Tap and his family are such a good example of community spirit so it was particularly nice to be acknowledged in his name.
I do feel a bit of a fraud though, partly because other people do as much as me if not more and some of what they do is far more onerous than my efforts.
Also what I do is not a hardship to me at all, it gives me company and a feeling of having a use again which I had been struggling with after the losses of my parents and my job. The office team are so supportive that it makes the job much easier”.
About The Award
The Tap Bali Award has been created as a honour of Tap Bali and his long standing commitment to his voluntary work.
Tap had an influence in the voluntary sector spanning more than 20 years and with the Welwyn Hatfield Community and Voluntary Services he was a valued member of our board of trustees.
Tap wasn’t merely our health and safety advisor but a mentor, lending his knowledge and wisdom to our projects, staff, and volunteers. Everyone in the organisation has a great fondness for Tap and he will remain a cherished member of our CVS family.
Tap stepped down as one of our trustees last year but his legacy will always remain.
Thank you to everyone who attended our AGM yesterday, it was an amazing turnout and we hope you all got the chance to make new contacts while networking.
