Courier fraud circulating via text messages

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been an increased number of people shopping online and most will be expecting a package at some point during the week. Over the past month one of our staff members has been receiving text messages regarding a missed delivery from DPD. She was home on the days that these the alleged delivery attempts were made and no one rang the door; she’s even seen DPD drivers make deliveries to neighbours without attempting to deliver to her. This had her thinking it was most probably a scam in circulation. When you are expecting packages to be delivered even through DPD these type of text messages can be quite convincing. They are either short and straight to the point “DPD: we attempted to deliver your package today but were unable to, please arranging a redelivery” followed by a link or they try the
