COVID-19 restart funding for sports groups

Sport England’s funding programme – return to play, offers grants for sports group activities affected by COVID-19. Grants start from from £300 up to £10,000 to support various areas such as: Return to Play: Small Grants Return to Play: Community Asset Fund Return to Play: Active Together Tackling Inequalities Fund They said “Coronavirus has hit the sport and physical activity sector hard and we know things have been tough, so we’ve modified our funding streams to help people safely return to play and are targeting the places they’ll have the biggest impact”. This Girl Can in Herts From 15th – 21st June 2020

This Girl Can, the national Sport England Campaign which celebrates women in sport who are doing their thing, whilst also encouraging more women and girls to get active is returning for its fifth year between the 15-21 June and will be delivered as a virtual campaign. Throughout the week we will be sharing activities and exercises that can be done at home for women, girls and their families on our Twitter page. Some activities include, PE with Joe Wicks, Pilates, Yoga, Dance sessions and couch to 5k. There will also be some live sessions taking place with an instructor via Zoom which include: Weight Train session – Wednesday 17 June 2pmGrab your hand weights or filled water bottles and learn some great exercises for toning your muscles. No experience necessary. No getting on the floor. All abilities welcome. Strength and balance class (targeted at older adults) – Friday 19 June
