Congratulations to NCVO on Volunteers’ Week 40th anniversary, that’s a magnificent achievement. Volunteers’ Week was first established in 1984, by what was then known as Volunteering England and has evolved year after year. It’s the no.1 week in the year for a celebration of volunteers and volunteering awareness.
The Welwyn Hatfield CVS and the Volunteer Centre Welwyn Hatfield has had a fantastic year. We’ve placed hundreds of people in positions with organisation and causes that match their interests. Some volunteers have also been successful in securing employment; It’s a great start to celebrating Volunteers’ Weeks this year.
The Welwyn Hatfield CSV and the Volunteer Centre Welwyn Hatfield have a busy week ahead and will be joining thousands of charities and voluntary organisations in recognising the contribution volunteers make across the UK. We will be pushing volunteering into the spotlight so that, that yellow heart of compassion and giving back shines brighter than ever.
Every year we look forward to this campaign and hold a special Thank You event for our volunteers to come together, network and share their experiences.
Are you looking for inspiration? Can your organisation join us? This is how we will celebrate 2024.
Celebrate Volunteers’ Week with Us
Our content will include quotes and interviews with volunteers about their experience, to help inspire others, show their growth and hear them speak passionately about the work they do.
We’ll also include tips you can implement for recruiting volunteers, opportunities we have available and types of volunteering so you understand you don’t have to volunteer a set amount of time.
Joining us on her first Volunteers’ Week is Welwyn Hatfield CVS Development Manager Nicola Latham who also looks after the Volunteer Centre Welwyn Hatfield. Nicola has been busy planning the Volunteers’ Thank You event for Wednesday 5th June and the Volunteer Speed Matching Event following a little later in the month.
Visit our social media on Facebook or X (formally twitter) to see how we will be celebrating and championing volunteering. Also, don’t forget to follow #VolunteersWeek to be inspired.
